To bring the metaverse into viewers’ living rooms, South Korean electronics giant LG Electronics announced partnerships with cloud-based technology platform Oorbit and Pixelynx, a company developing an integrated music, gaming, and Web3 ecosystem.

The partnership will make it simpler for users to interact in the metaverse by enabling viewers to explore connected virtual worlds, concerts, and AI multiplayer games through their LG TVs.

Users will have access to “super high fidelity interconnected virtual worlds” and activities, such as virtual concerts and AI-generative multiplayer games, according to statement.

Co-founder and Oorbit’s chief technology officer Pooya Koosha shared:

“Our proprietary technology is the connective tissue that links virtual worlds together and makes it simple for developers and brands to carry their encounters into the metaverse. Scaling our technology for a great many LG TV clients is the subsequent stage in making the metaverse open for all.”

A majority share in the Los Angeles-based Pixelynx was acquired by the digital entertainment, blockchain, and gamification startup Animoca Brands in December 2022.

LG Electronics updated their corporate development objectives to embrace cryptocurrencies and blockchain-based applications in March 2022. According to a South Korean news outlet, LG listed the “development and sale of blockchain-based software” and “the sale and brokerage of cryptocurrencies” as two separate goals during its annual general meeting.
